St. Michaels to Annapolis

 May 21

St Michael's finished with a blast.  We stumbled across a restaurant named "Foxy's" and given Terri's maiden name we just had to eat there.  Turned out to be a great bar with fantastic food.  The Crabby Pretzel was outstanding.

While there, we ran into Mel Benhoff's brother Bo.  I just had to buy him a drink (his birthday was just  a few days before).

From there we did the touristy thing and enjoyed the Maritime Museum seeing at all the boats of both my childhood and Chesapeake lore.  Way Cool!  Here are some random pics:

One item that is worth a shout out is the Punt Gun.  This is essentially a hand held cannon used to duck hunt.  This gun was known to take down 10s of ducks in a single shot.  Eventually they were outlawed.  You had to be a real man (or real stupid) to be behind the trigger of one of these.

In the evening, another looping couple we met during the day invited us to join them for dinner.  Gina's in St Michaels has the worlds best quesadilla.  They only get so good and this was it.

Yesterday was our trip to Annapolis.  This was our first night on a mooring ball and all went well.  Our view is of the Naval Academy.  The trip into Annapolis reminded us why this is the sailing capital of the east coast.  Sail boats everywhere, large and small.

And the blog would not be complete without a pic of the Thomas Point Light House.  So, HERE IT IS!

The day was spent touring the town, eating ice cream and letting everyone pet Yudee.  He was given so many treats we may need to find a dog WW program for him by the time we are done!  It's graduation weekend and the town is buzzing with activity.  Lots of young women in gowns and students in uniform...beautiful.  We finished the evening at the Naval Academy watching the Navy band play in the park.  Fantastic.

So many of you are probably wondering how Yudee is doing ... overall GREAT.  He did have one rude awakening however ... He got knocked overboard!  We were all on the dingy and I went to start the motor.  He had moved behind me without my knowledge.  When I pulled the cord I hit him square in the chest with my elbow and suddenly SPLASH!.  He was fine.

Also, the ducks and rabbits on St. Michaels are either the bravest or dumbest on earth.  The ducks would walk right up to him.  The rabbits would sit and eat 5 feet away.  It drove him crazy.

So far,  all is good.  Until next time.

Love Terri and Aubrey
